Perhaps you are either really eager to get pregnant or you’re hoping to have a baby at a specific time of year. Below are five tips to boost your chances of conceiving quickly.
Visit your healthcare provider
More likely than not to have a successful pregnancy when your body is up to the task. Lay the groundwork for a healthy pregnancy by scheduling a preconception check-up with a doctor or midwife to find out whether you’re in your best baby-making shape – and to learn what changes could help.
On the spot, you may not be able to resolve any health issues, but taking these steps as soon as possible prepares you for a healthy pregnancy.
Make plans for a healthy pregnancy
Take folic acid for at least one month prior you wanting to get pregnant. Folic acid is also shown to greatly lessen the risk of certain birth defects.
Other good advice that may help you conceive a healthy baby: Quit any bad habits like drinking, smoking, or drugs, get yourself to a healthy weight, and lessen your caffeine consumption.
Knowing when you ovulate
One of the main contributors of getting pregnant quickly is to know when you exactly ovulate. Meaning you releasing an egg from your ovary. Ovulation only occurs once each menstrual cycle. Timed intercourse with your partner during ovulation has higher chance of getting pregnant during that particular cycle.

Having sex during the right time
Once your time frame for ovulation is known. You will need to have sex during this “most fertile period”. Usually it is two to three days before ovulation all the way to the day you ovulate.
However, if you are not clear when your fertile period is. It is ideal to have sex every day or every one to two days during the second and third weeks of the cycle. More likely than not for you to have some healthy sperm in your fallopian tubes whenever you release an egg.
If The couple are only awaiting to have sex until your most fertile time, be sure you have not gone through too long of a dry spell before this period. The male should ejaculate at least once in the days before the most fertile period. If not, there could be a buildup of dead sperm in his semen.
Sperm boosting
Your partner can do the following to try to improve his sperm quality and fertility:
- Stop smoking and drugs.
- No more than three alcoholic drinks a day.
- Have a healthy weight if you are overweight.
- Get enough of nutrients like zinc, folic acid, and vitamin C – that help produce strong and plentiful sperm.
- Reframe from use hot tubs and saunas or take hot baths because heat kills sperm. (Testicles function best at a couple degrees lower than normal body temperature.)
The sooner your partner makes these changes, the better: Sperm take a while to mature, so any improvements now will yield better sperm specimens in about three months.
How long to try before getting help?
If you’re younger than 35 and haven’t gotten pregnant after trying for a year, it’s time to see a fertility specialist. If you’re 35 or older, talk to a specialist after you’ve tried for six months with no luck.
If you know there is a reason you or your partner are more likely to have a fertility problem, it’s a good idea to see a specialist even before you start trying.
